Devon: Land of Milk and Honey

Members of Devon Churches Green Action attracted much interest at the Exeter Green Fair (10th September 2011) with their promotion on ‘Devon – Land of Milk and Honey’.

We offered samples of local Devon Honey (from the Exe Estuary area) and Devon milks, including skimmed, goats, and full cream milk as part of a tasting presentation.

Interestingly, it seems few people actually drink milk as a product these days, and young people who tried their taste buds were definitely not keen on the strong goats product.

Our purpose was to draw attention to the plight of both bees and dairy farms in Devon, and we set out action points for people to engage further in these issues. A new card on supporting bees can be downloaded from our website (attached).
