Trees for Life

Trees are vital to the planet's ecology; they provide a focus for human activity and industry; and they continue to be a source of inspiration for art and faith.
In Scriptures, trees have a significant role to play in relation to the purposes of God, whether as a source of life and healing, as working tools and crafts, as providers of food and shelter.                                       In today's world they are able to provide a means of addressing climate change by absorbing carbon and water.
DCGA is drawing special attention to trees as part of the Season of Creation (Creationtide) in 2016 and has published a new leaflet with reflections and actions, launched at Exeter Green Fair on 3rd September.
This annual fair is the longest running environmental festival in the South West and attracts hundreds of people every year. Sadly the rain washed out the afternoon this year but the morning was a very worthwhile occasion.
The Trees leaflet is posted below.
